Barry Bonds is getting a statue outside Oracle Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants. The team’s CEO, Larry Baer, confirmed the plan, stating that Bonds is “certainly deserving of a statue”. While the location and date for the event are still pending, the statue is “on the radar” and expected to be the next one erected outside the ballpark.
Currently, there are five statues outside Oracle Park, honoring Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal, and Gaylord Perry. The Giants retired Bonds’ jersey number 25 in 2018. Bonds, a seven-time National League MVP and 14-time All-Star, holds the MLB records for career home runs (762) and single-season home runs (73 in 2001)
