On Sunday, MLBbros CJ Abrams and James Wood made history with the Washington Nationals. Abrams launched a home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers for his 30th home run of the season.
With that home run, he joined Wood, and the duo became the first teammates in franchise history since 2019 to hit 30 home runs in the same season.

The dynamic duo have been a spark in the Nationals offense and are proving why they are some of the best hitters in the game.
Abrams is hitting over .260 through 136 games with 30 homers and 95 RBI. He ranks top five in the league in RBI. The infielder has certainly established himself this year and has improved his game significantly.
He became the first shortstop in franchise history to start an All-Star Game. He was elated to be a part of the All-Star Game with his teammate.
“It’s awesome,” Abrams said. “Me and James go way back to San Diego, and now we are over here doing our thing, so it’s going to be fun.”
For Abrams, being a part of the All-Star experience was something he’ll never forget.
“It’s amazing,” Abrams said. “The fans have been out [to support us] every game, pretty much. We have been out there, kind of together. They bring the electricity, and we’ve been getting the job done for them. Today didn’t go as we wanted, but we are going to keep working.”
Abrams felt good after hitting his 30th homer against the Dodgers.
“It’s great,” he said. “It shows that putting in the work and staying disciplined pays off. I was on the fastball, and to be able to adjust to the offspeed makes me know I’m in a good spot.”
Hitting 30 homers in the majors is no small feat. For Abrams, he learned a lot throughout his journey of hitting 30 homers for the first time in his career.
“[I was] kind of getting down or trying to make things happen when they’re not, instead of just taking it day by day,” Abrams said. “Just being able to stay even-keeled is probably the biggest thing [I’ve had to learn throughout that time].”
James Wood has continued to display his power throughout his career. He’s hit 30-plus homers for the second consecutive season.
Wood is also hitting over .260 this season and has a slugging percentage over .530.
Wood and Abrams have been the face of the organization throughout the season, and manager Blake Butera was glad to see them representing the team in the All-Star game.
“Awesome, [I am] fired up for both CJ and Woody,” Butera said. “Both extremely well-deserved honors. CJ starting at shortstop, Woody outfield reserve. All their teammates were really fired up for them.”
Despite limited team success this season, the future looks bright for the Nationals, especially with Abrams and Wood having the success they’ve had this season.
The sky is the limit for both of these MLBbro’s.
