The MLBbro got off to a hot start this year batting .316 in his first 44 games before a wrist and later a hamstring injury caused him to miss an extended amount of time. Lawlar returned to the Majors after a nine-game rehab assignment with the Double -A Amarillo Sod Poodles. With a combination of power and speed, he can give the Diamondbacks extra athleticism and speed to help the lineup be more dynamic. And although the team is entrenched in a very competitive wild card race, the team is still platooning the MLBbro against left-handers, for now. The MLBbro has sat against right handers since returning. On the year Lawlar is batting .265 against righties and .321 against lefties so this is not a bad strategy.
