New York Yankees star Aaron Judge propelled his team to a 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Judge hit a two-run shot to right field in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving New York its 31st win of the season. Before hitting that home run, Judge went on an 11-game streak without recording an RBI.

Safe to say his extensive streak is over for the seven-time all-star. Going into that game, the last time Judge recorded an RBI was on May 10 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

At the plate, Judge is a player who can deliver in numerous ways to help win games. But there are times when things aren’t going the way you envisioned offensively.

“There’s no frustration, I got a job to do,” Judge said. “Obviously, I want to get the job done and help the team win, and we weren’t winning, so I was mad about that. But no homers, RBIs, you can find other ways to help your team win. So that’s what I was trying to do.”

Through 53 games, Judge is carrying a .250 batting average with 17 home runs and 32 RBI. His 17 home runs are tied for the third most in the league.

Despite his streak without a home run or RBI, Judge is still one of the top home run hitters in the league, and his cold streak wasn’t going to stick around for long.

“It really feels like a matter of time,” Cody Bellinger said. “This game is so difficult. He’s (Judge) literally one of the best hitters of all time, so it was just a short little period.”

While Judge has cemented himself as one of the best hitters to ever play this sport, that does not mean he always has success at the plate.

This streak is a prime example of how professionals battle through adversity and continue to go out there and give it their all.

And in Judge’s case, he continued to step in that batter’s box and have that confidence in himself, despite what the outcome would be.

“He’s been putting good swings on balls,” Yankees starting pitcher Ryan Weathers said of Judge. “He’s just been having bad luck lately, and that was a pretty impressive homer to get it out in these conditions.”

The Yankees are in second place behind the Rays in the American League East. There’s no question that Judge is a key piece in the Yankees’ lineup.

The last two seasons, Judge has hit over .300 and belted more than 50 home runs. The question is, can he do it for a third straight season, and will he be able to go without recording an RBI for numerous games again?

May 24 could be a key turning point for Judge as the season progresses. Judge will always have the spotlight on him, whether he’s doing well or when he’s struggling.

When you’re a player who has had success in the league for numerous years, people will always follow you and how you do throughout the season. For Judge, this could be a big turnaround and a performance you may want to keep tabs on throughout the season.
