The Los Angeles Angels have eight prospects in MLB Pipeline’s 100 minor league players. That’s the most in all of baseball and that group is led by the club’s top ranked prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No.4 ranked prospect Christian Moore. The supremely talented Moore was the No.8 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Tennessee after leading the Vols to the national championship.

Christian Moore Returns To Tennessee

While, he wasn’t doing damage at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on the campus of Tennessee University, Moore was putting in work at Covenant Health Ballpark in downtown Knoxville. The Angels’ future second baseman was back in Knoxville to play six games for the Rocket City Trash Pandas against the Knoxville Smokies, and let’s just say Moore didn’t disappoint. He even talked about playing somewhere other than the aforementioned LNS Stadium.

“I am not used to being at a baseball field in Knoxville and lost,” Moore said. “But it is awesome. This is what it is about. Knoxville loves baseball.”

Knoxville Is HOME

In the series opener Moore went 3-for-5 with a homer and three hits. An elated Moore told reporters this about his return to his former stomping grounds.

“This is home to me,” Moore said. “I lived here last offseason. This is home. So when I come back, I know where everything is. I know where to eat. I know how traffic is going to be. I know where everything is here. It is a blessing to be back.”

Moore Has The Entire Package

With an expected arrival to the majors in late 2025 or early 2026, the Angels can’t wait to get a possible cornerstone player up to the big leagues. Moore’s talent is undeniable and he’s currently the No. 4 prospect in all of Minor League Baseball. His stock is soaring. His recent walk-off home run only added to the buzz, showing not just power, but poise in clutch situations.

All of it is something that the Angels crave.
