Aaron Judge reclaims his throne atop of our Week 8 #HighFive list after another week of posting a batting average over .400. As we inch closer to summer grumblings about Judge becoming the first player to finish the year with an average over .400 since the great Ted Williams in 1941 will grow louder.

Not only did Judge take back his usual top spot on the #HighFive this week, but he also regained the Major League home run lead with a go-ahead bomb in the 8th inning Wednesday against Seattle, bringing his total to 15. It was the hardest hit homer at T-Mobile Park in the statcast era.

He is running away from the pack in the chase for the American League MVP award as he leads the Majors in every single offensive category outside of stolen bases. Judge has hits in six straight games and is slashing .414/.471/.828 with seven RBI and three home runs over his last seven.
This weekend his Yankees will host his former running mate Juan Soto for the first time since he left the BX for Queens, New York this past offseason.

C.J. Abrams has been in his zone over the first two weeks of May, earning himself the two spot on our #HighFive. Masyn Winn has been a major factor in the Cardinals current 9-1 stretch, helping him secure the three spot on our #HighFive.
Winn, who is slashing .357/.471/.643 with two home runs, seven RBI and six walks over his last seven games accounted for all of St. Louis’s scoring in their 3-2-win Monday over the Phillies.

Had it not been for an 0-for-20 at the plate to begin the year, we might be hearing Winn’s name in early MVP conversations.
This weekend his Cardinals travel across state lines to Kansas City to take on the Royals in a matchup that will pin him against another great young shortstop in Bobby Witt Jr.
4. Josh Naylor

Josh Naylor is going to be the first of his three brothers to get a major payday after this season ends. After making his first career All-Star Team last year and helping lead Cleveland to the ALCS Naylor has shown none of 2024 was a fluke through his first month and a half as a member of the D-Backs.

He is currently in the last year of his contract however it is possible Arizona decides to offer him an extension during the season, especially after letting Christian Walker leave in Free Agency last winter.
Naylor is hitting .300 with a stolen base over his last seven games.
Arizona currently sits in 4th place in the National League West entering their series this weekend against the Rockies.
5. “Money” Michael Harris

“Money” Mike takes the final spot on the Week 8 #HighFive list as he begins to put his slow start behind him. Before Thursday, he had hits in eight of nine games and has already almost matched his season walk total with three over the first two weeks of May. The biggest play by Harris this week came in the outfield, where his defense has never slumped. He made an over the shoulder catch while crashing into the wall to preserve a one-run lead against the Washington Nationals.
