The Major League Baseball postseason begins today with the Atlanta Braves looking to defend their surprising championship from a year ago.

There are a number of strong contenders for The Commissioner’s Trophy. The Los Angeles Dodgers set a team record with 111 wins; the fourth most all time and the most in the National League since the 1906 Chicago Cubs.

Atlanta’s NL East rivals, the Mets, won 101 games and led the division for most of the year. The Cardinals are sentimental picks with future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols making his last playoff run. Wild Cards Philadelphia and San Diego have potent offenses that could cause damage in a short series.

Over in the American League, Dusty Baker has 2000 wins in his career but he’s still in search of that elusive World Series ring as a manager. His Astros led the AL in wins, ensuring the path to a title must pass through Houston.

Likely AL MVP Aaron Judge hopes to extend his dominance into the postseason and bring the Yankees that elusive 28th championship. Tampa has gone from playoff favorite to potential spoiler, while Cleveland, Seattle, and Toronto hope their talent can offset their lack of postseason experience.

Who does the MLBbro.com staff believe will be the last team standing? Here are our picks.
