NEW YORK – Los Angeles Angels right fielder Jo Adell is living the dream right now. On Thursday, almost two weeks after displaying his defensive prowess against the Mariners at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, Adell gave the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum his glove which will be on display in Cooperstown. In turn, Adell received a lifetime pass to visit the museum.

“It’s awesome. There is not a better place [to display the glove],” Adell said.

Adell gave the glove to Jon Shestakofsky, the vice president of communications and content for the Hall of Fame. It was April 4, to be exact, when Adell robbed the Mariners of three homers in a 1-0 victory.

In the first inning, Adell robbed Cal Raleigh of a homer by leaping over the right-field wall. Eight innings later, Adell made a similar catch off the bat of Josh Naylor. The third robbery came in the ninth when Adell leaped into the right-field seats and caught J.P. Crawford’s drive that prevented Seattle from tying the game.

Adell expressed excitement that the glove he once owned is now a part of history.  In fact, the Major League Baseball Players Association licensed a t-shirt showing him making those great catches. Adell recently completed a MLB commercial that will show his catching abilities in an office setting. MLBbro.com didn’t even mention all the interviews Adell has done since that day. There are too many to mention.

“After the game was over, I went back [and looked at what I did] and the reaction of what it meant to viewers of sports and baseball viewers,” Adell said. “… I heard multiple people say it was the best experience that they’ve ever been a part of. It was really cool… I guess until the game is over, you don’t realize the type of impact that it has. Over the past week, everything that has been coming my way, it’s been attributed to [the catches]. It’s pretty special.“

With his glove now in the Hall of Fame, Adell will use the Wilson glove he used in 2024, when he was a Gold Glove finalist. He started using it Thursday against the Yankees.

“I’m pretty comfortable about that one,” Adell said. “It’s broken in, so it’s good. Then Wilson is sending in an additional replica [of the glove I used this year]. So I have a couple.”
