Jo Adell is on the verge of making his first postseason appearance of his career.
The Cleveland Guardians are in a tight battle for first with the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central Division. Through 156 games played, the Guardians are ahead of the White Sox by one game.
Adell has played a vital role in helping Cleveland make a postseason push. He is glad he has the opportunity to be a part of a team that could play into October.
“You want to be in an environment where you’re playing September baseball that means something,” Adell said. “I’m just really excited and glad I could help these guys and be here for it.”
Adell is riding an eight-game hitting streak spanning from September 12th through September 20th. He is hitting close to .250 during September and he has made an immediate impact since joining the team in August.
He spent the first six and a half seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Angels and made a name for himself during his time out west.
Adell fits right into this Cleveland team and he’s a player who can bring that energy on the field and in the clubhouse.
“It’s really easy to just walk in this clubhouse and get fired up to play a baseball game, and you know that it matters,” he said.
Coming off a 2025 season where he set career-highs in home runs (37) and RBI (98), Adell was starting to come into his own and prove his value.

Cleveland knew how much of an impact Adell could make and there’s a reason why they traded for him.
“It’s a phenomenal human that has brought a lot of value to this team,” Guardins manager Stephen Vogt said of Adell. “What he can do offensively in the middle of the order, we just haven’t had it. We haven’t had that bat where if you make a mistake, it’s going to go a long way.”
“That brings fear, that brings danger. It’s just been a huge presence in the middle of the order for us.”
Not everyone can say they had a chance to make the postseason and compete for a World Series title. Adell could join the list of players with postseason experience and if that happens, who knows how much of an impact he can have for Cleveland.
His Cleveland teammates know how talented he his and what he brings to the team.
“He’s a really good player,” shortstop Brayan Rocchio said. “He came to us with one goal: to help us win and make the playoffs. That’s how it looks.”
Cleveland will finish the season with games against the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals. The next six games will be crucial for the Guardians and look for Adell to lock in and come through for his team when his number is called.
Adell has prepared for this moment and is ready to play in the postseason.
