NEW YORK – About 10 minutes after his team lost to the Guardians, 5-2, on Wednesday night, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he still doesn’t know how serious the injuries are to Aaron Judge’s right shoulder and upper rib area.

Judge felt the discomfort in those areas while taking swings against the A’s this past weekend in West Sacramento and has missed the last two games against the Guardians at Yankee Stadium.

During that three-game series against the Athletics, Judge went 2-for-12 (.167) with four RBIs. According to the skipper, Judge will have more imaging done in the rib area.

“(The doctors) want to get specific spots,” Boone said. “They will look in different angles, more around the rib. … It’s to a point where he is not playing. We’ll get a strong diagnosis on things and then we can roll.”

Judge is in his 10th full season with the Yankees and continues to be their best player. Entering Thursday’s action, Judge has a slash line of .248/.533/.907 with 17 home runs and 38 RBIs. In Judge’s absence, José Caballero has started in right field.

“It sucks not to have (Judge) here, but at the same time, we’re still a team. I feel like we have a lot of great players on this team,” teammate Jazz Chisholm said. “Judge is great, but he can’t do it by himself. … We have to come together and put it together for us.”
