Josh Naylor was a prized commodity at the trade deadline and has already begun proving his worth to a Seattle Mariners team fighting for a playoff spot. He earns the top spot on our Week 19 #HighFive list after a successful first week in his new uniform.
1. Josh Naylor

I have preached for years how underrated of a player Josh Naylor ‘the Impaler’ is and now the people in the Great Northwest will get to experience the passion and flare from one of the best first baseman in baseball.

Since being acquired by the Mariners last week he has at least one hit in five of his first six games and is batting .318 with two home runs, five RBI and is a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
His 21 stolen bases this season are a career-high by a wide margin and if he keeps his pace up he could become one of if not the biggest player ever to steal 30 bases in MLB history.
2. Xavier Edwards

Xavier Edwards has brought the success he saw in June and July into the first week of August as he claims the second spot on our #HighFive list. After posting a slash line of .346/.361/.423 in the first week of August including a 4-for-5 game Wednesday, Edwards now sits tied for third in the National League with a .298 batting average. In addition to great hitting, he sits in the top 20 for On Base Percentage among N.L. hitters and his Marlins are benefiting from his positive play as they are 18-12 in their last 30 games.

On Thursday Edwards and his Marlins begin a four-game series in Atlanta against fellow #HighFive member Michael Harris and his Braves.
3. Dom Smith

After starting the season in the Yankees Minor League system Dominic Smith has locked down his spot on the San Francisco Giants roster.
Since joining the team at the beginning of June Smith is hitting .271 with an OPS of .745, three home runs and 19 RBI.
Dating back to July 18th he has hits in 11 straight games, tying the longest streak of his career which he accomplished in September of 2020.

Smith will have the chance to extend the streak this weekend against one of his former teams, the Washington Nationals.
4. “Money” Michael Harris II

Michael Harris II takes the fourth spot on our #HighFive after he was named as the Home Boi Highlights last week.
The second half of the season has served as a new beginning for Harris after being one of the worst hitters statistically in the Majors. He played well in last week’s “Speedway Classic” at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, which was the first Major League game played in the state of Tennessee.

Harris went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. In total, he finished the series with a .400 average, three runs scored and one RBI.
5. J.P. Crawford

Two game-winning home runs last weekend solidified J.P. Crawford in the five spot of our Week 19 #HighFive. The first came via walk-off fashion on Friday when Crawford launched a two-run homer off Rangers reliever Robert Garcia.

A few days later, he hit his second home run of the season off of All-Star pitcher Jacob DeGrom, helping the Mariners take the series over the Rangers 3-1. Crawford is hitting .263 through the first five games in August as he tried to help Seattle keep hold of one of the three American League Wild Card spots.
