With the first phase of 2023 MLB All Star Game voting set to begin on Wednesday, May 31 at 12:00 p.m. ET., it was time for us to put together our list of MLBbros who we feel deserve your vote.

There’s still time for a few others to join this group below, but these five players are all but guaranteed to represent their teams in the Emerald City.

Aaron Judge – OF, New York Yankees

The single season American League home run record holder will be front and center for the summer classic. Judge returned from a minor hip injury in May and has performed exactly how someone who has been adorned with the Yankees “C” should play.

Judge is hitting .291 with 15 home runs, 35 RBI and a league leading 1.031 OPS and 181 OPS+ coming into Memorial Day as the Yankees look to battle back in the AL East.

Marcus Semien – 2B, Texas Rangers

One of the key pieces in the best offense in baseball, former MLBbro Player of the Year Marcus Semien should be a lock to start at second base for the American League.

Marcus is currently third in Wins Above Replacement amongst all eligible American League players, posting at 3.0 WAR headed into Monday’s action.

Semien ranks first in runs scored, second in hits, second in total bases and fourth in RBI in the American League. He has especially feasted on breaking pitches this season, batting .337 with .482 slugging percentage.

Mookie Betts – OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

His bat may have cooled as of late, but Mookie’s star power will certainly be on display in Seattle. Betts has continued to collect extra base hits with the best in the game, with 26 of his 48 hits on the season going for extra bases.

Betts has added a new wrinkle to his All Star candidacy; defensive versatility. Already a Gold Glove outfielder, Mookie has made just one error in 17 games playing second base and shortstop for Los Angeles.

Marcus Stroman – SP, Chicago Cubs

The walking embodiment of the phrase “Don’t judge a pitcher by their win-loss record”, Chicago Cubs ace Marcus Stroman has yet again been one of the most dominant starting pitchers in the Major League.

Stroman leads the major league with 10 quality starts in 12 appearances this season, posting a 2.59 ERA with 56 strikeouts and a 0.99 WHIP in 73.0 innings pitched. Marcus has once again used a large arsenal consistent of six different pitches, and he has employed them masterfully.

So far this season hitters are hitting .215 against his sinker and .186 against his slurve, his two most frequently used pitches.

Devin Williams – RP, Milwaukee Brewers

Fresh off a dominant showing in the World Baseball Classic, Devin Williams and his “Airbender” changeup have continued to mystify all challengers. Williams is 3-0 with eight saves in 16 appearances, posting a 0.54 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched while striking out 22 batters.

He throws his changeup 51 percent of the time, and batters still cannot figure it out. So far this season, hitters are batting .121 and slugging .212 against Williams’ best pitch despite the frequency he throws it.
