April showers bring May flowers, so let’s make it rain this last Friday of the month! Let’s get that bankroll blooming with these three picks to get your pockets green:
1. It’s been nothing but a stormy start to the Kansas City Royals (+175) 2023 campaign, as they try to find brighter days in the other Twin City. It’s been an ice-cold start for the Royals’ MLBbro Jackie Brandley Jr, who’s .132 batting average and one RBI will do nothing to support his starting pitcher Jordan Lyles (0 wins – 4 losses, 4.88 ERA).
Meanwhile, the Twins are reigning supreme in the AL Central. Powered by a trio of MLBbros in Byron Buxton, Nick Gordon, and Michael Taylor, they’ll also have their ace in Pablo Lopez (1-2, 3.0 ERA) on the mound –who already left 39 batters thunderstruck in his three starts.
Take the Twins -1.5 (+105).
2. Birds are hoping to chirp in Motown, as the Baltimore Orioles (-115) fly in to do battle with the Detroit Tigers (-105). The Orioles are shining to start the season, and MLBbro Cedric Mullins has been nothing short of brilliant with his .271 batting average, three home runs (including a grand slam earlier this week), and 20 RBIs!
Meanwhile the rain has been pouring on the Tigers who are hoping their MLBbro, Akil Baddoo, can get to a superstar level after a rough start to the season (.233 BA, 1 RBI).
This should be a closer than expected duel, so I’m taking the Tigers +1.5 (-175).
3. Finally, in an NL West showdown, our final match-up has the desert-dwelling Arizona Diamondbacks (-135) traveling to the mile-high Colorado Rockies (+115). On the mound for the D-Backs is Merrill Kelly (1-3, 3.42 ERA) facing off against the Rockies’ lefty Kyle Freeland (2-2, 4.28 ERA). The two pitchers will also be battling the elevation which the odds makers have paid attention to as they set the over/under on runs at 11.5(!).
Even with Arizona’s scorching offensive numbers (7th in batting average, 4th in runs), there’s no way the Rockies do their part to hit the over. The Rockies are currently in the bottom half in the league in ALL offensive ratings, and that’s why Dbacks/Rockies UNDER 11.5 Runs (-110) is today’s Bro’s Best Bet.
