The news is finally out. The MLB revealed the finalists for the 2021 All-Star Game in Colorado. One of those elite ballers just  happens to be our MLBbro Marcus Semien.

There’s no question that the Toronto Blue Jays second baseman has been one of the hottest players in the league throughout the season and he deserves to play in the All-Star game — the first of his career.

Let’s be real, there’s a really good chance that he will be selected to play in the game. He leads all voting for American League second basemen and can potentially be a starter in his first appearance.

The All-Star starters for the American and National League will be announced on Thursday, July 1st.

This season has been a memorable one for Semien so far. In his first season with the Blue Jays, this brother quickly became a fan favorite and a household name.

During the month of May, Semien was one of the top hitters in the league. He started the month on a 12-game hitting streak and during that streak, he had a game where he went 4-for-6 with a home run against his former team the Oakland Athletics.

People around MLB quickly started to catch on to Semien and pay close attention to how well he was playing.

Semien only had three games in May where he did not register a hit. His bat was flaming.

He finished May with a .368 batting average, eight home runs and 22 RBI.

Those type of numbers will get people around the league talking about you.

The American League named him Player of the Month and it was well deserving. The Blue Jays have benefited a lot from making the move to acquire Semien. He’s been nothing short of an impactful player and solid veteran presence in the locker room.

Semien is one of the top hitters on the team, currently boasting a .281 batting average with 45 RBI through 76 games and he’s second on the team to AL MVP front-runner Vlad Guerrero with 18 home runs.

His impressive hitting has continued throughout June as well. It’s like he can do no wrong at the plate. He is currently riding a  five-game hitting streak and had a 2-for-4 performance in his recent game on July 27th against the Baltimore Orioles.

It would be a shock if Semien was not selected to the All-Star Game, but let’s be real. The chances of that happening are very slim.

The 30-year-old is setting himself up to have a successful career in Toronto. If he keeps playing like this, he will definitely play in more All-Star games in the future.

This is a great sign to see for the MLBBros. To see Semien having the success that he’s having is amazing.

He won’t be the only Black player in this year’s All-Star Game, but he’s definitely among the most deserving.

For the last few years, Semien has put the work in to become one of the best in the game and you love to see his hard work paying off.
