”It takes a lot,” Walkers tells mlb.com. “And it still takes a lot. I don’t honestly think I’m there yet when it comes to completely shutting my mind off. It’s still difficult. It’s hard to do every at-bat. But I think…on the right track.”
When you watch Walker, you can see that he has a plate appearance and has discipline when he steps into that batter’s box. He has a plan of attack and understands the situations he is put in. In April, Walker became the fourth Cardinals player in team history to hit at least seven home runs in the team’s first 15 games.
