The Dodgers mourn the loss of MLBbro Davey Lopes, who passed away today at age 80. Lopes was a member of the team’s record-setting infield of the 1970s and 1980s and one of the basestealing kings in MLB history. Lopes played second base and hit leadoff as part of the LA Dodgers 1981 WS squad that defeated the Yankees. Lopes played in four World Series, was a four-time All-Star and won a Gold Glove in 1978. His contributions to coaching also can’t be ignored.
