Aaron Judge just finished an historical month of April. He is the current front runner for the A.L. Triple Crown and is the only player to record 50 hits, reach base 70 times and record 85 total bases before May, earning him the top spot on Week five of our #HighFive list.

On the heels of a rough showing in his first ever World Series appearance Aaron Judge returned in 2025 better than ever; not only hitting for power but adding a major emphasis on hitting for average. It is getting to the point where teams should consider giving him the “Barry Bonds” treatment and just walk him.  With an on base percentage above .500 he is showing he can be selectively aggressive and not force the long ball.

Judge has homers in three of his last four games and is slashing .481/.563/.889 over his last seven games with seven RBI. His 16.7 fWAR is on pace to be the highest of All-time, passing Babe Ruth who recorded a 14.7 in 1923. The Yankees will welcome a familiar foe in the Tampa Bay Rays to The Bronx this weekend.

2. J.P. Crawford

J.P. Crawford is bringing his nine-game hitting streak to Arlington for a divisional matchup with the Rangers this weekend. The defense has always been there for Crawford, but April saw a whole new player in the batter’s box. He is slashing .440/.533/.680 with two home runs and eight RBI over his last seven games. For the year, his .423 OBP only trails fellow #HighFive member Aaron Judge amongst American League hitters.

Woods Richardson takes the third spot on our #HighFive list after earning his second win of the year in what was his best start of the season. He finished April with a 4.07 ERA but was better than those numbers suggest.  One key for him is to limit walks, which he did through his last three starts of the month only walking one batter combined.

SWR punched out a season-high seven batters through 5.1 innings while walking none and allowing only four hits. Walks got the best of him in his May 1 start, a tight 4-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians, SWR walked five in 4.2 innings and struck out four He only surrendered two hits but one was a decisive homer. His 3.86 ERA is very respectable.

4. Chandler Simpson

Chander Simpson, the fastest man in baseball, earns his first career appearance on MLBbro.com’s #HighFive list.

He debuted April 19th and recorded a hit in eight straight games, including three multi-hit games over that span. Simpson, who played college baseball at Georgia Tech alongside the newest paid Red Sox Kristian Campbell is a part of the Atlanta baseball pipeline that includes players such as Lawarence Butler, Michael Harris, Marc Church, C.J Abrams, Cam Collier and multiple other Major and minor leaguers.
