Cleveland Guardians outfielder Jo Adell has played a pivotal role in the club’s 2026 postseason run. The former Los Angeles Angels star has been delivering crucial clutch hits including a bases-clearing triple in Game 3 of the ALDS and a key RBI double in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Tampa Bay Rays.

In acquiring Adell the Guardians sought to fix an offensive deficit in right-handed at-bats and struggled overall against left-handed pitching. Adell’s propensity to excel against southpaws, and his versatility to play right field and designated hitter were two other main reasons the Guardians pulled the trigger on the move.

Adell’s Key Postseason Highlights

In Game 1 of the Guardians (7-3) come from behind road win at Tropicana Field, Adell extended the Guardians’ lead with a 105.7 mph, 2-run double in the 9th inning to seal a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

That followed his heroics with a bases-clearing 3-run triple in Game 3 of the ALDS, as Cleveland staved off elimination and claimed victory over the Chicago White Sox. A series they came back and won 3-2 after trailing 0-2, losing the first two games at Progressive Field aka “The Jake” in Cleveland.

Adell Joins Guardians Legend

Joined Kenny Lofton as one of only two players in franchise history to record multiple triples in a single postseason series. After only hitting one triple over the entire 2026 regular season, Adell found his groove following a mid-season trade from the Los Angeles Angels, providing a crucial spark that helped vault the Guardians into the 2026 ALCS, one step away from the World Series aka “Fall Classic.”

Fans Take To Social Media To Talk About Adell’s Impact

“An excellent addition during the trade deadline,” a fan said.

“Adell is absolutely on fire right now”, another fan mentioned.

“He’s a Clevelander at heart,” a fan commented.

“He is a good dude and he is so happy to have a chance in the playoffs,” another fan quoted.

“AND fortunately for us he’ll back for next season,” a fan quipped.

Adell is under contract with the Guardians through the 2027 season.

Move To Cleveland Has Revived Adell

After some trying years on the West Coast with the always stagnant Angels, Adell came East and looks like a totally player. He looks happier and seems to be having fun. Playing for a contender will do that for you, and the Guardians are annual playoff contenders.

Since joining Cleveland, Adell has embraced a simplified swing and a welcoming team environment, providing key power numbers and energy down the stretch.

Nicknamed the “Jo Show” for his defense in the outfield and social media handle @JoShowAdell, the speedy outfielder finished the regular season with a .241 batting average, 20 home runs, 83 RBIs, and a .702 OPS across 136 games.

This postseason he’s batting .250 with 8 RBI and a .791 OPS.
