The 2026 season has not been a productive one offensively for Mookie Betts. While the Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the best records in the league, their future Hall of Famer has struggled at plate.
And Dodgers’ fans have nothing to worry about. While the production has not been there for Betts this season, he still is a key piece to this Dodgers team and will play a vital role as they have their eyes set on winning a third consecutive World Series title.
On paper, the Dodgers have one of the best teams in all of baseball and recently added Tarik Skubal to an already loaded starting rotation.
You go through their lineup and have to deal with hitters like Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernandez to name a few.
But one player you can never forget about is Betts. Throughout the course of his career, Betts has proven numerous times that he’s a winner.
He has had a lot of success during his time in the league and has the accolades to back that up.
This season, Betts has faced adversity dealing with an injury and missing nearly a month of baseball. He only appeared in three games during the month of April after suffering a right oblique strain.
He made his return to the lineup back in May and finished the month hitting .200.

Through 75 games played this season, Betts is carrying a .229 batting average with 13 home runs and 36 RBI.
Over the course of his career, he’s never finished a season hitting under .250. While there is still a lot of baseball to be played, Betts will look to break out of his struggles offensively.
He has shown positive signs at the plate this season. Towards the end of June, he went on an eight-game hitting streak that ended at the beginning of July. Betts also hit his 300th career home run on June 25th as well.
The Dodgers normally have Betts at the top of the batting lineup, but due to his struggles, he has fallen down towards the middle to end of the lineup.
No matter where he is in the lineup, he still is a threat on the offensive end and pitchers have to be careful when he steps in that batter’s box.
Not too many players can say they have had the success that Betts has had throughout their career. The 33-year-old has four World Series titles, a MVP award, has been named an All-Star eight times, is a six-time Gold Glove winner, and a seven-time Silver Slugger winner.
As stated before, this man knows what it takes to be successful and play at a high level, and succeed at that high level.
We will have the opportunity to see how Betts finishes out the remainder of the season and if he can make an adjustment at the plate.
He has the opportunity to win his fifth title and continue to add to his already impressive resume.
