At 24, Victor Scott II has quickly emerged as an impact player for the St. Louis Cardinals this season, and he is not showing any signs of slowing down.

He has played a key role in the team’s success during the month of May. The Cardinals are now one of the top teams in the division, just a few weeks ago, that was not the case. The MLBbro has contributed to this quick turnaround for the Cardinals.

Through 37 games, Scott is carrying a .290 batting average with 36 hits, 18 RBI, two home runs, and 11 stolen bases. In addition to that he has a .403 slugging percentage. From April 30th to May 11th, he has recorded a hit in every game he’s appeared in.

The speedster leads the team in stolen bases and has been thrown out just one time. St. Louis saw something in Scott they liked, drafting him in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He made his big league debut last season appearing in 53 games and this year he will surpass that number without a doubt.

St. Louis Cardinals Manager Oliver Marmol Is High On VS2

With his speed, he has the ability to run fly balls down in centerfield and cause havoc on the bases.

Scott’s success this season so far comes as no surprise. This is a player who is dedicated to hard work, and it is paying off.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol noticed Scott’s work before the season even started.

“He was dialed in coming into spring training,” he said in a USA Today article. “He was on a mission and you could tell there was a difference in not just how he approached the game but his work.”

“He was very detailed in his preparation and you knew it would carry over at some point – thankfully sooner than later.”

Scott was determined to have success going into the 2025 season and those 53 games he appeared in last year helped shape him into the player he’s becoming.

Victor Scott II Didn’t Want A Repeat Of Rookie Season Star

He hit .179 during his limited time last year and he was able to see where he was and how he competed on the big stage.

“After the season ended last year, I knew I didn’t want to repeat that,” Scott said. “I wanted to learn as much as I could about the game and be able to implement those things in the offseason in my training.”

Speedy Victor Scott II Has Star Potential & All The Tools

The sky’s the limit for Scott and he has the potential to become a star. It would not be a surprise if he has a few all-star selections on his resume before his career is over.

St. Louis last made the postseason in 2022, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in the Wild Card series and before that they made three consecutive appearances in the postseason. This could be the year where they find themselves back in the postseason and players like Scott will play a pivotal role throughout the remainder of the season.

Watching Scott this season has been a sight to see, and he has quickly developed into a fan favorite. The Cardinals have a special talent, and we will watch this player blossom into a superstar.
