“Home Run Dugout is thrilled to announce a partnership with the legendary and future Hall of Famer @MookieBetts. As HRD continues to lead social baseball entertainment, Mr. Betts will serve as Chair of our Athlete Advisory Board” the company wrote.

Betts will serve as Chair of the company’s Athlete Advisory Board, helping to drive innovation, fan engagement, partnerships and national expansion.

Said Betts: “At my core, I’ve always believed that baseball should be for everyone. That’s why drives me to do the things I do off the field, giving every kid a chance to fall in love with the game, no matter where they come from.”

Mookie Betts Wants To Pioneer New Baseball Movement

In 2024, MLBbro.com spoke with Betts about the future of young Black athletes, their involvement with the sport of baseball, and the changes he would love to enforce in the game.

The goal I set out to accomplish is getting blacks in baseball, not necessarily on the field, but just around the field and maybe in the front office.” According to ESPN, there are only 29 people of color, which makes up only 30 percent of the total professional staff in the MLB,” Betts said at the time.

A huge way of doing that is hooking up with entities like Home Run Dugout that are focused on making baseball fun, not just for kids who play the sport but the casual fan.

Betts continues to fulfill his promise of using his celebrity to diversify the game and also expand and make it more accessible to children from all areas of the country.
