MLBbros Adrian Johnson and Alan Porter will be part of the umpiring crew for the 2025 World Series starting Friday night, when the Dodgers face the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Johnson and Porter have a combined 31 years experience on the Major League field, while both are crew chiefs during the regular season. During the Fall Classic, Johnson is scheduled to be behind the plate for Game 2, while Porter is expected to do the same for Game 5, if necessary.
Johnson has been a full-time Major League umpire since 2010. He received his first All-Star Game assignment in ’16 in San Diego, and his first postseason series a year later. Since then, Johnson has worked in nine postseason series, including 2022 American League Championship Series between the Astros and Yankees.
Porter became a full-time Major League umpire in 2013 after serving as a substitute from 2010-12. He has had his share of playoff action, working 19 postseason series, including the 2022 World Series between the Astros and Phillies, the second Fall Classic of his career. He also worked the 2019 World Series between the Nationals and Astros. Porter was recently praised for his accuracy behind the plate during Game 5 of the American Division Series between the Tigers and Mariners. According to Umpire Scorecards, Porter had an accuracy rate of 96 percent. That’s after looking at 447 pitches.
