It’s now a doe-or-die game for Dan Wilson, Josh Naylor, JP Crawford and the Seattle Mariners. The franchise hasn’t been in this situation since 2001 and they couldn’t get over the hump with Hall of Fame caliber stars such as Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez and Edgar Martinez. Now they have some punch and a cast of arms that could be considered the best in baseball.

The addition of Josh Naylor has been invaluable as Cal Raleigh has also ascended to MVP caliber. Crawford is the consistent captain who hit double digit homers (12) for the second time in his career.

As far as Bros matching up, this is as good as it gets. Toronto was buried by plenty of baseball analysts, but now it seems the momentum is switching. If Toronto can go back home for Game 6 with a puncher’s chance, then we could have a fantastic Game 7 finish.

The hardest thing to do for a team traveling deep into the postseason for the first time is close. Both the Mariners and Blue Jays are entering uncharted territory. The ifs and maybes have now resulted in these teams controlling their own real championship destinies.

In all likelihood Mookie Betts and the LA Dodgers will be waiting. They are up 3-0 on Milwaukee in the NLCS and should put them away over the next two games.
