“Money” Michael Harris has vengeance on his mind after a lackluster first half of the season as he not only earned himself the National League Player of the Week award but also takes the top spot on our Week 18 #HighFive list.

Michael Harris looks like he put his first half struggles behind him as he put together his best week of the season posting a .478 average, 1.500 OPS and six extra base hits.

Mass Production: Michael Harris II Leads The Atlanta Braves In RBI, Finding Ways To Win

Last Saturday night he had the best game of his career going 4-for-4 with two triples, a double and a homer. I am sure he will take the triple over becoming the 351st player in Major League history to record a cycle however he did make history becoming the first player since 1901 to hit two doubles, triples and homers in a three-game series.

In what appears to be a wasted season for the Braves is going to be a crucial part in the development of Harris, who the team plans on having as their center fielder for years to come.

They will need to get production out of him, especially with Ronald Acuna Jr. possibly missing the rest of the year with an achilles injury.

2. George Springer

George Springer should be a prime candidate for the American League Player of the Month award as he continues to remind people he has one of the most consistent bats in baseball.

Did An Outdated MLB All-Star Voting System Cost George Springer To Be Snubbed?

Entering the final day of the month he is slashing .371/.451/.640 with seven home runs, 17 RBI, two doubles and three steals in three attempts.

He had his six-game hitting streak snapped on Monday in a game he exited early after being hit in the head with a fastball.

Springer and his Blue Jays sit atop the American League East and have loaded up their roster in hopes for a World Series push.

3. Cedric “The Entertainer” Mullins

In what was Cedric Mullins’ last series in an Orioles uniform, their latest 30/30 man went out on top and gave the Baltimore faithful a show on both sides of the field.

Cedric Mullins hit his 100th career home run on Saturday during the Orioles, 18-0, mauling of the Rockies.

In their three-game set against the Blue Jays Mullins was 6-for-14 with four doubles, a home run and four RBI bringing his slashline over his last seven games to .435/.444/.913 with two homers, seven RBI and two walks.

Mullins is now a member of the New York Mets after being traded to the Big Apple for two prospects.

4. “Black Jack” Flaherty

Jack Flaherty gave the Tigers one of his best efforts of the season, shutting out the Blue Jays who have the top ranked offense in Major League Baseball and ending Detroit’s six-game losing streak on the way to earning the fourth spot on our #HighFive.

Slump Stopper: Jack Flaherty Stops Detroit Tigers Six-Game Losing Slide

He threw six shutout innings striking out seven and allowing only five hits and giving up a walk on the way to victory.

After a rough month of June, Flaherty has seen his numbers improve over his five starts in July and he will look to continue that positive trend in his next start this Friday night as he takes on the Phillies and their hostile crowd.

5. Xavier Edwards

Xavier Edwards wrapped up a successful month of July with another solid week at the plate as he takes the fifth and final spot on our Week 18 #HighFive list.

He enters August with hits in 12 of his last 14 games and finished with a monthly average of .324 bringing his season total to .294 with a .724 OPS.

Edwards was someone I highlighted on last weeks #HighFive as a player contending teams should look to pluck from Miami, but with the Marlins finishing July with a 15-10 record and now seven games out of the final National League Wild Card spot, maybe they believe keeping him as part of their future would benefit them in the long run.
