Byron Buxton Is Bro Bombing Again After A Slight Slump | The Cream Rises To The Top
He’s back! That’s right, it’s starting to look like our MLBbro Byron Buxton has returned to his dynamic form at the plate. This past week and a half, he’s put up some impressive numbers. From June 2 to June 13, he hit .351 with seven home runs and 11 RBI.
Last week he had a three-game stretch where he homered in each game. This brother wants all the smoke and he’s making it known.

His recent performances earned him American League Player of the Week honors. This was his second Player of the Week honor of his career. On Monday, the Twins began their series against the Seattle Mariners and Buxton came through and contributed to the 3-2 victory.
He went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI, his 18th home run of the season.

Buxton was excited to get that win on the road in the series opener.
“Taking that excitement out of the crowd right away, for us, that’s when we know things are starting to click and things are going good,” Buxton said in an article from mlb.com. “For us, that’s kind of like our motivation.”
This brother has got off to a hot start this month and this is the player we have been waiting to see all season. This was a significant turnaround for Buxton, because May was not a good month for him offensively.
He hit .169 in 89 at-bats and struck out 24 times. It’s like a flip switched in his head and he was ready to show everyone why he’s one of the best in the game.
“I’m just trying to go up there and hit line drives through the ball — through it, not over,” Buxton told the StarTribune. “Just stick with that kind of mentality. They just keep carrying a little bit farther.”
The 28-year-old is getting hot at the right time, not to mention his team is sitting at the top of the AL Central. Over the years, he’s developed into a high-level player who can impact the game on the field and at the plate.
He’s going to play a significant role for the Twins as the season progresses. And if he can remain consistent at the plate, not only will he see success in his numbers, but the Twins could end up being a team opponents don’t want to see come playoff time.
Minnesota definitely has the talent to make a run towards the end of the season, and having a leader like Buxton on the team certainly helps.
The big question is will the Twins continue to sit Buxton like they’ve been doing in recent games. Because the way he’s performing now, you have to keep him in the lineup. It’s going to be an exciting finish to the season and you’ll want to keep an eye out on how Minnesota finishes and how Buxton’s performance will impact the team.
