The Triumvirate | Myles Naylor Is Next Up To Join His MLBbros…Literally

The Canadian-born Naylor brothers are a trio of talented baseball players who are taking the game by storm.

 

With brothers Josh and Bo recently starting a game on Father’s Day together for the Cleveland Guardians, it was only a matter of time before folks began wondering if the third brother could also end up in Cleveland.

Myles Naylor Is Next Brother Up

 

The youngest of the trio is Myles, who just so happens to be the 59th-ranked prospect heading into next month’s draft according to MLB Pipeline.

 

Prior to the Father’s Day outing, Guardians skipper Terry Francona was asked about having both Josh and Bo in his batting order, and Francona was quick to let us know he’s also thinking ahead.

 

“I’ll tell you what,” Francona responded. “I’m comfortable putting three.”

 

Sounds like someone wouldn’t mind adding the talented 18-year-old Myles, who projects as a third-base prospect, but also has shown the ability to play the outfield.

 

 

 

 

Myles Manages The Pressure Of Following In Brothers’ Footsteps

 

As the MLB Draft nears, the pressure for Myles is likely at its peak with him following in the footsteps of both Josh and Bo.

 Josh, who’s now has 32 hits in his last 21 games, was taken 12th overall by the Miami Marlins in the 2015 draft.

Bo, who recorded his first MLB hit las Wednesday, was taken 29th by the Guardians in 2018.

Now the stage is set for Myles to have his big moment in about two weeks.

 

During last weeks MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field in Arizona, Myles told reporters this.

 

“I’d be lying if I said I don’t feel any pressure,” Myles said. “But I think, over the years, I’ve learned to deal with the pressure of being the younger brother more and more. There’s definitely pressure. They’re great players. They’ve done great things in baseball. But at the end of the day, I try to play my own game and remind myself people that I’m Myles Naylor.”

 

Myles brother are awaiting his arrival, while also trying to not to bring any added pressure to their younger sibling.

 

Bo, recently told reporters this ….

 

“I feel like there’s not a moment where it’s not in my mind,” Bo said. “It’s something that we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. It’s kind of crazy just realizing how fast time has flown for him to get to this point.”

 

 

 

Naylor Possesses An Array Of Skills

 

 

Myles is a great athlete, whose 6-foot-2- and 195-pound frame adds to his plus throwing arm, great speed and smart base running ability. He also swings a wicked stick. 

 

The infielder is also a solid defensive fielder who’s capable of making all the throws necessary to keep base runners honest. In a lot of ways he’s the total package that teams and GMs look for on draft day.

 

In fact, that was on full display at Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Ontario, Canada. It’s where all three Naylor laid the groundwork for who they are today.

 

Myles is also ranked 45th on Perfect Game’s Top 400, 33rd on Baseball America’s top 150 high schoolers, and 68th on Baseball America’s top 300 list of combined high school and college players.
