We’re in the home stretch MLBBro.com fam! We’re saying goodbye (not Dubai, like Mr. Rob Parker) to the regular season, and screaming hello to postseason baseball.
It’s been a fun ride all season long here with the #BrosBettingBaseball (@bbruh916 / @abookay3) and we hope we lined those pockets with more green than the wall-monster in Boston. Enough with the sappy stuff, let’s lay some maple wood on the leather and hit some home run winners with today’s 3 picks!
1. Things are tighter than a hippo in stretch pants in the NL East race! The New York Mets (-110) hold the slight lead as they visit the second place Atlanta Braves (-110) in this pick’em battle for the top spot. The Mets have given up so much real estate after dominating the first 50 games of the season, and they hope their longtime ace Jacob DeGrom (2.93 ERA, 5 wins – 3 losses) can help salvage their lead against the Brave’s own ace, Max Fried (2.5 ERA, 13 wins – 7 losses). Things may be rough for the Mets, though, as DeGrom’s return has left a bit to be desired. He’s allowed 3 or more runs in his last 3 games and has 0 wins in all three games. The Mets are also still missing MLB Bro Starling Marte to a finger injury, and their big bat Pete Alonso has gone 1 for 8 at bat in his last two games. With the Mets trending down, it’s a strong lean for us picking the hot Atlanta Braves moneyline.
2. Let’s stay in Atlanta for pick number 2! Despite the struggles discussed in the earlier pick, Jacob DeGrom is still dealing as his WHIP sits at an amazing 0.74. Through 58.1 innings pitch, DeGrom recorded 91 strikeouts and has a well-rested arm after sitting out the majority of the season. On the other side, Max Fried’s WHIP is nearly as impressive at 1.02, and if we’re talking about trends, he’s only given up 2 or less earned runs in every start in September. It’s a scary low number, but I’m loving Under 7 total combined runs between the Braves and Mets.
3. There’s a lot on the line for our last pick of the day, as the Wild Card hopeful Milwaukee Brewers (-178) welcome in the Miami Marlins (+150). If you’re a fan of pitching, go ahead and grab a glizzy and some peanuts before you tune in as Miami’s Sandy Alcantara (2.32 ERA, 14 wins – 8 losses) and Milwaukee’s Corbin Burnes (3.11 ERA, 11 wins – 8 losses) will be putting on a show!
The two pitchers have an amazing, combined strikeout count of 420 Ks, and have only allowed 101 combined total bases on balls. These two guys are in their prime as they wrap up their 3rd year in the bigs, but only the Brewers still have something to play for and their offensive fire power (top 10 in slugging and home runs) is lightyears ahead of the Marlins (bottom 10 in all offensive categories). Go ahead and count on the Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline as the #BrosBestBet, and we’ll see you all back here next season as PLAYOFF BASEBALL begins in a week and some change!
Welcome MLBBro.com fam, as we wave goodbye to the summer and inch closer to the chase for the pennant!
The #BrosBettingBaseball (@bbruh916/@abookay3), or the self-proclaimed MLB wagering kings as we like to call ourselves, got off to a series split (2 wins – 2 losses) in the month of September. Fear not, as the man with the stats PropaganDrew hit the spreadsheets, built his own sports model with his bare, callused hands, and we’re confident today’s three picks will have you seeing more Benjamins than the inside of an ATM machine!
1. First, let’s get out of this west coast heat wave and pull up to the field of Wrigley, as the San Francisco Giants (-170) visit the Chicago Cubs (+143) starting at 4:05pm Eastern. The Giants are well on their way out of playoff contention (somewhere the Cubs have been for the last two months), but their newest ace Carlos Rodon (2.92 ERA, 12 wins – 7 losses) will try to keep their miniscule postseason hopes alive against the Cubbies left-handed veteran Drew Smyly (3.84 ERA, 5 wins, 8 losses). Rodon has pitched his heart out, fanning 201 batters over 157.1 innings even as his run support has been terrible. The Cubs offense has been mediocre all year, sitting in the bottom half ranks in ALL offensive categories. Put the two together and we’re loving the Giants Moneyline to get that first win of the day.
2. In middle relief, we’re calling up the Pittsburgh Pirates (+175) and the St. Louis Cardinals (-210), as they do battle in Western Pennsylvania starting at 6:35pm Eastern. Both teams are sending out pitchers who have basically split the season’s wins, as the Card’s Miles Mikolas (3.32ERA, 11 wins – 10 losses) and the Pirate’s Roansy Contreras (3.41 ERA, 4 wins – 4 losses) are both middle of the league in ERA and are hovering around .500 win percentages. That’s when you let the wood do the talking, and the Cardinals are screaming on offense to the tune of top 10 MLB ranks in batting average, runs, hits, on base %, slugging %, and even home runs. The Pirates, meanwhile, are in the bottom 5 in those same categories, with the lone exception of sitting at 19th in home runs. That makes the #BrosBestBet the Cardinals Moneyline, as the red birds continue their dominance in the NL Central on their way to the postseason.
3. The closer for this Friday is a trip back down to the dirty south, as the LA Angels (+192) look to upset the Houston Astros (-235) in H-Town. The Astros are another division leader, and they’re hoping to get righty Lance McCullers (2.08 ERA, 2 wins – 1 loss) back into championship shape versus the Angel’s 6th year man Michael Lorenzen (4.94 ERA, 6 wins – 6 losses). While the Angels have looked a bit more lively the last few weeks, even stealing a win from the Astros back on September 3rd, the Astro’s utter dominance of the division doesn’t bode well for Shohei, Trout, and company.
MLB Bro Yordan Alvarez has continued doing work in the batter’s box, blasting 31 homers so far this season. Right behind him, Jose Altuve and Kyle Tucker have each sent 24 balls into Houston’s skies. Look for the Angels to fall back down to earth, as we have the Houston Astros Runline -1.5 to end our night!
We’re welcoming those August dog days of summer at the MLBBro.com offices, but “Don’t call it a comeback!” in the famous words of James Todd Smith because we’ve been rolling with the winners since July! Skip that summer music festival and kick it with the #BrosBettingBaseball (@bbruh916/@abookay3) because we stay working hard to leave you saying “today was a good day” every Friday, hold the Ice Cube. So sit back, relax, and catch a contact with three picks that will leave you screaming “My, my, my!” and we’re willing to share because it ain’t no fun if the homies can’t get none!
1. It’s the 5th of the month, so let’s head to the Land of Bone, Thugs, and Harmony as the Cleveland Guardians (no line posted) look to get “Bizzy” against the Houston Astros starting at 4:10pm Pacific. The Astro’s lefty Framber Valdez looked chopped and screwed in the month of July, as he struggled to just a .500 win percentage and gave up multiple earned runs in every start last month. He’ll be facing off against fellow southpaw Kirk McCarty of Cleveland, who’s astronomical 6.05 ERA makes him more like the man on the moon than a Big League ace. Po’ up and double up on the #BrosBestBet as we’re hoping the rejuvenated Astros -1.5 Runline and their latest trade deadline additions can help them capture a big win and help us secure a big bag.
2. There’s nothing hotter than a New York summer when it comes to the MLB, and the bridge isn’t over when you’re headed to Queens to watch the New York Mets (no line posted) host the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have been So So Def behind starter Ian Anderson as he’s rolled out batters to the tune of 9 wins and 6 losses, despite his 4.99 ERA. But our favorite MLB Bro “Freaky” Taijuan Walker has been an absolute Bonecrusher this season, and he “Ain’t Neva Scared” when he’s sporting 9 wins – 2 losses and a 2.79 ERA to lead the Metropolitans to the top of their division. With the division lead down to 3.5 games between the rivals, we’re still taking the Mets Moneyline to hold on and send the Braves back to the dirty with their tailfeathers tucked between their legs.
3. Finally, let’s head bang and mosh our way up to the Pacific Northwest as the Seattle Mariners (-190) look to stay in a state of Nirvana against the visiting Los Angeles Angels (+160). The Emerald City has picked up the pace since the summer started while the Angels have fallen from grace and were reportedly listening to offers for Sho…Nevermind. You might call the “other team in LA” a bunch of Foo Fighters for constantly cashing out MVPs and coming up short of anything even closely resembling a playoff contender.
Look at the Mariners to continue to win behind lefty starter Robbie Ray (8 wins – 8 losses, 4.11 ERA) as the Angel’s Patrick Sandoval (3 wins – 7 losses, 3.61 ERA) has 5 lost straight games since the start of July, and PropaganDrew pulled even deeper stats showing the Angels are a bottom 5 team vs. left-handed pitchers. Dial up the Mariners Moneyline and kick them nasty losses…because BABY WE’RE BACK!
The #BrosBettingBaseball are back like we never left, and my main man PropaganDrew (@abookay3) is smokin’ hot as we burn up in these dog days of summer. Even though those cheating, scheming, and LOSING Astros dropped two of my picks last Friday (@bbruh916), Drewski claimed the one win as the Blue Jays easily put him in green and kept him clean.
He’s up nearly 100 Units(!) on the year, and his trends are on the up tick once again! Let’s take a look at some of his trends for this Friday, and I’ll round the bases with two of my own winners in today’s MLBBro.com selections:
1. Let’s ride PropaganDrew’s hot hand and make his Prop the #BrosBestBet as we head to the windy city for the lead-off start of 2:20pm Eastern. The Atlanta Braves taking on the Chicago Cubs pits two teams on the opposite sides of the spectrum. The Cubs have been TERRIBLE this year, but their starter Keegan Thompson has been decent with a 3.67 ERA and 6-2 record. The Atlanta Braves have been unstoppable since their superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. reentered the lineup, and prior to his cold streaks versus the Nationals last week, he was batting .311 with 6 homeruns in his injury shortened season. The hook is their starting pitcher Charlie Morton has seen better days, as he’s floating near a 5.7 ERA and is barely winning over half his starts at a 4-3 record. The stat man pulled the trends showing Morton has hit the over on 11 of 12 games, and Thompson has hit it on 8 of 14! Hit the OVER 8.5 Total Runs in the Cubs/Braves matchup.
2. Keeping it in the Midwest, we’ll jump to the steel city of Pittsburg to see the battle of Barry’s teams at 7:05pm Eastern! The suddenly surging San Francisco Giants (-210) look to right the ship after dropping one to the Royals as they start their summer series against the discounted, disjointed, and downright despicable Pittsburg Pirates (+180). Don’t let a fantasy football assault take away from what Joc Pederson has been doing since donning the orange and black. He’s enjoying a .270 batting average, knocked in 33 RBIs, and has 13 homers despite having the breakfast slapped out of his mouth last month. Even though Ke’Bryan Hayes of the Pirates is one of our MLB Bros you need to know with solid numbers at a .270 BA and 22 RBIs, he doesn’t have enough pitching or batting support to get past the Giant’s lefty Carlos Rodon who’s rocking a 3.18 ERA and staggering 83 Strikeouts in 65 innings pitched. Take the Giants money line, but I’ll be taking the -1.5 run line (-130) because my mama didn’t teach me responsible gaming. (sorry mom)
3. What’s a baseball summer without a trip to SoCal where it never rains, unless you’re in the gentlemen’s club with Professor Rob Parker (bring a bucket, not an umbrella). Before we hit the club, let’s hit the ball park as the Los Angeles Dodgers (-300) welcome the Cleveland Guardians (+250) to Chavez Ravine. Old is new, as Clayton Kershaw has found new life as a pitcher even without the same velocity that carried his left hand to legendary status. He’s barely getting hit on the year, as Kershaw’s 2.12 ERA and 4-1 record lead the always stacked Dodgers into Friday. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s right-handed starter Zach Plesac hasn’t done anything to please Guardian’s fans with his 4.7 ERA and only a couple of wins on the season. Grab a Dodger dog, $20 beer, and take the Los Angeles Dodger on the money line. I’ll be taking them -1.5 on the run line to get a few extra shekels to throw on some coeds with Professor Parker. (Sorry dad)
The Bros Betting Baseball (@Bbruh916 & @Abookay3) are EN FUEGO! We took home all the Ws, and left those Ls for the bookie as we won both games (SFG/LAD) and the prop play (MIN Twins Over 4.5 Runs) on Friday the 13th. That’s 5-1-3 in the last three weeks, and let’s make that 8-1-3 as we throw our shekels on a two-piece of teams with a side of prop this Friday, 5/20/2022.
1. Put away the coin purse, and bust out the bandos as we present this week’s Bros’ Best Bet! Those red birds are going OFF this year, so we’re taking he St. Louis Cardinals (-135) to dominate the hapless swashbuckling Pirates in Pittsburgh (+115) starting at 3:35PM Pacific. The Pirates are struggling this year with or without pitcher Zach Thompson (RHP; 5.47 ERA), and even made the Reds look great last week. There’s no reason to doubt they’ll continue to slump and dump against Adam Wainwright (RHP; 3.15 ERA) and the bats of the Cards who sport top 10 league marks in Batting AVG, Runs, and OPS.
2. It’s a PROP PARTY as we chase down Aaron Civale and his skyrocketing 9.85 ERA. At this point the Cleveland Guardians may want to send some prayers to The Great JoBoo to see if he can exorcise the demons plaguing their righty pitcher. Even though they’re sitting bottom 10 in most major batting categories, we still like Detroit Tigers Over 3.5 Runs against the lobs they’ll be facing, Friday.
3. Finally, “Propag”Andrew hit the calculator hard to punch up his favorite trends on our last pick. For the night cap, he’s loving theMilwaukee Brewers (-170) as they host the Washington Nationals (+150) at 5:10PM Pacific. Now put on your bifocals and read these trends carefully:
Trend 1: Nats Away record is 8-11; Brew Crew’s home record is 12-5
Trend 2: Nats are 1-5 in the last 6 games vs. Brewers
Trend 3: Battle of the Eric(k)s, RHP Erick Fredde is 2-2 and has a 4.24 ERA for the Nats, while Eric Lauer is DEALING with a 3-1 record and 2.6 ERA for the Brewers.
All that to say, finish your trifecta strong and pick the Brewers on top Bros’ Best Bet Cards and enjoy your Prop Party with the Over 3.5 Runs for the Tigers. MLB Bros get our summer bods ready by getting our pockets fat with Bros Betting Baseball!
