We’re feeling great after hitting on two of three picks last week, MLBbro.com Fam. We’re feeling as good as the big boss, Rob Parker, after finding a “Louie” jacket marked down 50% off at his local Ross Dress for Less. Let’s lock in on this week’s three winners, and hopefully we’re all cashing out on extra drip after they hit!
1. The New York Yankees (-155) have absolutely dominated the month of June. Behind Bro Bomber and current American League Player of the Week, Aaron Judge (.305 AVG, 25 HRs, 62 RBIs), the Yankees have dropped just three games this month. We don’t see their rival Boston Red Sox (+130) having any luck in derailing the Yankees momentum, especially with their rookie sensation Luis Gil (8 wins – 1 loss, 2.04 ERA) looking to add to his 90 strikeouts.
Brooklyn Bombs Away. Yankees -1.5 (+100)
2. Both the Philadelphia Phillies (+110) and Baltimore Orioles (-130) are currently ranked in the top 10 of nearly all offensive categories in the MLB. Those offenses will be put to the test as the Phillies’ starter Ranger Suarez (10 wins – 1 loss, 1.81 ERA) and Orioles’ starter Kyle Bradish (2 wins – 0 losses, 2.62 ERA) have been lights out for their respective squads. Look for a quick game, as the pitchers will shine in this battle of big bats.
Filthy pitch. Orioles/Phillies UNDER 8.5 total runs (-110)
3. In a battle of huge payrolls and middling returns, the San Diego Padres (-115) head to Queens to take on the New York Mets (-105). Although the Padres are chasing the division leading Dodgers in the NL West, their offense hasn’t been an issue against the rest of the league. With the Padres’ currently ranking first in batting average and hits, it could be over before the Mets get their first pitcher out of the bullpen.
May is upon us, MLBbro.com Fam! While the summer heat is just on the horizon, we’re hoping to catch fire with these three Friday picks.
We love the story of Joe Ross (1 win – 3 losses, 5.4 ERA), and MLBbro.com has chronicled his amazing return to the MLB. The Milwaukee Brewers (+110) have struggled to get another win since Ross’s initial victory, and the Chicago Cubs (-130) will march out their second year righty Hayden Wisneski (2 wins – 0 losses, 0.87 ERA), who has yet to drop a game.
Hunter Greene (1 win – 2 losses, 3.63 ERA) has helped usher in a new era for the Cincinnati Reds (+100). He’ll have his hands full with the AL East leading Baltimore Orioles (-120). With the Orioles leading the league in both slugging percentage and home runs, it could be a long day for one of our favorite “Melanated Mound Marauders.”
Mean Greene. Orioles -1.5 RL (+135)
We close out our Friday in Philadelphia, where the Phillies (-155) play host to the San Francisco Giants (+130). The Giants’ Jordan Hicks (2 wins – 0 losses, 1.59 ERA) has been nearly perfect on the year, but can his 22nd ranked (runs scored) offense compete with the Phillies’ Aaron Nola (4 wins – 1 loss, 3.2 ERA)? Is water wet?
Welcome back MLBbro.com fam! We got off to a rough start last week, dropping all three picks (0-3 on the season). We’re bouncing back strong to get your Friday paper long.
1. A pick we are recycling from yesterday due to rain out is the Detroit Tigers (-125) looking to defend home against their division rival Minnesota Twins (+105). Both starting pitchers are throwing major gas, as the Twins’ Pablo Lopez (1 win – 1 loss, 2.84 ERA) is sitting on a 0.84 WHIP and the Tigers’ Tarik Skubal (1 win – 0 losses, 2.92 ERA) has already notched 15 strikeouts on the season. With neither team cracking the top 25 in runs scored, we’re looking at soccer scores.
Best Bet. Take the Twins/Tigers Under 7 total runs (-110)
2. Meanwhile in the battle for Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Pirates (+135) will travel to the Philadelphia Phillies (-159) in what should be a barn burner. With both starting pitchers hovering near a 5.0 ERA and the Pirates ranking top 5 in runs, hits, and on base percentage, we should see the total runs in the double digits.
Wood will be swinging: Pirates/Phillies Over 9 total runs (-115)
3. For the last pick, we are looking forward to another division matchup as the Atlanta Braves (-189) head to South Beach to take on the Miami Marlins (+158). Neither Max Fried (0-0, 18.00 ERA) for the Braves nor Trevor Rogers (0 wins – 1 loss, 5.4 ERA) of the Marlins can keep batters from finding a base. With the top ranked offense of the Braves on the field, this could get ugly fast.
It’s 2024, and MLBbro.com is back like we never left. Hopefully you’ve followed Bro Betting Baseball for the last two seasons, but if for the newcomers, I will bring you three picks every Friday for your sports gambling pleasure. Get your bankroll ready, or shekels if you’re the big boss @RobParkerMLBbro, and let’s hit the bookmakers hard this season.
First stop is the Big Apple, New York. The Yankees (-149) look to topple division foe, Toronto Blue Jays (+127). While it’s early in the season, the Yankees have looked amazing behind former MLBbro of the year, Aaron Judge (1 HR, 4 RBIs). He and the Brooklyn Bombers should have a field day against the Blue Jay’s lefty Yusei Kikuchi (0 wins – 1 loss, 6.23 ERA).
Yankees keep it rolling. Yankees ML (-149)
The news of the week is the Oakland A’s (+190) are headed to Sacramento! It’s a dream come true for a Sacramento native, like myself, but the nightmare season will continue for the A’s. They’ll face off with the currently undefeated Detroit Tigers (-238) and their ace Tarik Skubal (1 win – 0 losses, 0.00 ERA), so expect another blowout loss by the floundering A’s.
A’s get an F for effort. Tigers -1.5 (-111)
In the clean-up spot, the Tampa Bay Rays (-170) travel to the Colorado Rockies (+142) where both teams are hoping to start digging themselves out of last place of their respective divisions. Although both are struggling to start the year, the Rays are much better equipped to string together a few wins behind the bats of Randy Arozarena and Yandy Diaz, and the arms of starters like Zack Littell (1 win – 0 losses, 0.00 ERA). Littell should mow over the meager Rockies lineup, who rank 20th or below in all major offensive statistical categories.
The only thing hotter than the play in the MLB, is the last cut of the MLBbro Mixtape! From the Rundown to the Outro, you have to download and subscribe to bring these picks full circle. Get the game while you get the loot!
Anywho…
The NL Central is in full effect as the Chicago Cubs (-120) go to Cincinnati to battle the Reds (+100). Since being called up to The Show, Cubs’ rookie pitcher Jordan Wicks has served up some solid numbers (1 win – 0 losses, 1.8 ERA) and could be a problem for his rival starter Graham Ashcroft (7 wins – 8 losses, 4.73 ERA) of the Reds. The offense also leans on the Cubs’ side (6th in runs scored), so it could be another missed postseason for the Big Red Machine.
Chitown for the win. Cubs ML (-120)
The Tampa Bay Rays (-178) look to get back on track in the amazing AL East against the wildcard hopeful Cleveland Guardians (+150). The Rays’ are bringing out the big gun in their starter Tyler Glasnow (7 wins – 4 losses, 3.12 ERA). He should have a solid outing against the Guardians who are currently 26th in runs scored.
Bros’ best bet! Rays RL -1.5(+100).
Has anyone seen the Texas Rangers (-155)? They need to find themselves fast, as the suddenly surging Minnesota Twins (+130) come into Arlington to try to keep their top spot in the AL Central. With the wily veteran Max Scherzer (3 wins – 1 loss, 2.64 ERA) on the mound and the elite MLBbro Marcus Semien (.275 average, 20 HRs, 81 RBIs) swinging his bat, Texas should get a quality win against a possible playoff foe.
